In the year 2015, at age 19, she published her first single for her debut album Here. It quickly became a hit which both the critics and people who loved it praised the song. It reached the top spot at 19th on both the Canadian Hot 100 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named it one of the best songs in 2015. The same year, she released her debut album Know It All with the third track Scars to Your Beautiful being one of the five original songs that reached the heights of Billboard charts. This includes the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. The song was unique because many people related to the interview she did with The Rap-Up crew about how she struggled in learning to love and be herself. In a conversation with Reuters, she said that her album was "half tumultuous" as well as "half finished". Her growth was aided by therapy and she encourages others to seek treatment if they need it.
